There are many things you can do on a trip to Gran Canaria. If you are a water person, then snorkelling and hanging out in water coves might be your thing. But if you’re more interested in keeping dry but still seeing the beauty of ocean life, you might choose a submarine tour. For 40 minutes a submarine takes you under the waters of Gran Canaria and shows you the mystifying and beautiful sea life. Or you can take a tour above water, in a boat that you can go either sport fishing on (into depths of 350 meters!) or a two hour cruise for whale and dolphin watching. The cruise boat even has a glass bottom so you can get the most out of your whale watching exposure! There are other boat rides that can also take you to the main island (and most populated) of Tenerife.
For more of a land experience, you can take an 8 hour jeep safari of the island reaching a high point at Ayacata, which is approximately 1,200 meters! For more of a thrill ride, you can opt to take a 30 minute helicopter ride through either the north side of the island, or the south side, both having many benefits. The north route will take you over the East coast through Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (the capital of the island), the towns of Arucas and Teror, and the Valley of Guaydeque. The south route also takes you over the centre of the island, the West coast, and the southern coast (where the majority of the beaches are).
